Hi Everyone!

My friend, entrepreneur and Mary Kay rep Sarah (link to her page here)  Posted a Youtube video of on the best way to do Ombre nails (view video here)  I liked it so much I took the challenge.  These are the polishes I used to recreate this mani.  Pure Nail Lacquer's  Virtuous and Honesty and Krafty Gurl's Platinum. (note: Platinum is not yet available on our site)

I used two coats of the light pink Virtuous as a base for all 10 nails.  Then with a cosmetic sponge, I sponged on the Honesty polish until I achieved the look that I wanted.  Once that was dry.  I sparingly used on coat of the Platinum and one coat of Seche Vite topcoat.  Below are the results.  Tell me what you think?

Swatch from Pure Nail Lacquers - Sea Breeze

Hi Everyone!

I'm not going to review the rest of the collection I purchased from Pure, however, I'll be swatching the colors I received.  This one is Sea Breeze.  A beautiful sky blue creme.  I paired it with Krafty Gurl's Summer Days and now I feel like going to the beach!!  I had these two on my mind together since I first saw the color on Danielle's site.  I'm pleased that what I had visualized really works well together.  Remember, click on the link to purchase any of Pure Nail Lacquers line.

Swatch and Review, Pure Nail Lacquer - Loving Me

Hi Everyone!

As to no surprise and for obvious reasons, I'm a HUGE supported of indie polish and polish designers.  I've started my own collection of my favorite indie polishes and thought I'd start off my first review with a designer I recently ran across through Instagram.  Pure Nail Lacquers.  Pure is owned by Danielle who is the sweetest sweetest person, although I've only corresponded with her via IG and email, I can already tell if I ever met her in person, she'd be the same as she is "virtually".

My first swatch from her collection is "Loving Me".  (Excuse my short nails, I'm still in recovery from LONG term acrylic nail use)  This polish is a beautiful light purple, not quite lavender, almost mauvy creme color.  I paired it with Krafty Gurl's "City View" from our Fall Collection.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE these polishes.  I really could have just done 1 coat of this polish and be done with it.  That's how smooth and pigmented it is.  I did two coats on this swatch for good measure and one sparingly done coat of City View.  I wanted the glitter to be an accent only as I wanted the polish to really show through.  I'm really looking forward to collecting more of Danielle's line, she has some amazing colors at unbelievable prices.  Each polish is $5 for a full sized bottle and you can get them here at: www.purebeautyshoppe.myshopify.com

Weekend Mani

This Mani was inspired by a look my Instagram friend Nori Ocasio from the blog Fierce Makeup and Nails.  She did an amazing Abstract Pop Art mani that I used as inspiration for this weekends mani.  This is the inspiration photo:

Below is my mani.  I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors Cinderella.  I used Krafty Gurl's After Midnight and did a half moon swoop on each nail.  I then used LA Colors striper in Silver to outline the half moon.

You can purchase this glitter topper from Krafty Gurl Designs at www.kraftygurldesigns.com or visit our Etsy shop at www.etsy.com/shop/kraftygurldesigns.

Check out Nori's blog at www.fiercemakeupandnails.com or you can find her on Instagram @fiercemakeupandnails

Swatch of Krafty Gurl's "Stone Heart"

Hi everyone!  I had a totally different mani planned for today but I'm really glad I changed my mind.  This one came out great.  This is what I used to accomplish this mani.   Two coats of Bettina's Platino, one generous coat of Krafty  Gurl's Stone Heart (note: it's a chunky glitter so I did have to so some glitter placement) and my topcoat of choice is always Seche Vite.

You can purchase Bettina polishes at Walgreens in S.Florida or Walmart in Puerto Rico, however I recently found out you can email rosamadistributors@gmail.com with your order and they will Paypal invoice you.

Krafty Gurl Nail Dazzle polishes can be purchased at www.etsy.com/shop/kraftygurldesigns

Meet "Classy Camo"

I had hoped to get this one out before Memorial Day, but as a homeschooling Mom the end of the school year can be super busy and just downright nutso!  This definitely was inspired by the many Heroes in my life.  My Dad, uncles, cousin, all my brother in laws, 2 of my sister in laws are all veterans of the military.  There's nothing plain about this one though, it's jam packed with miss green, light green, chartreuse, golden sand and bronze hex glitters in a variety of shapes and sizes.  Ladies this ones a sparkler!!

Meet "Sea Glass"

I just can't seem to capture all the facets in this glitter.  It's such a complex mix.  I used various sized hex  and square in aqua, mint, lime, pastel blue and green and for that glass effect a touch of iridescent glitters.  I am so in love with this one.  It was inspired from my recent day trip to the Gulf beachside here in Florida.  Just goes to show, all encounters and every part of your life can be an inspiration for creativity.   Ill have this up on the Etsy shop soon.  Stay tuned for the next one :)

I'm Back!

Well, it's been what it seems like forever since I've been back using the blog.  It's been an adventurous year filled with ups and downs.  But as the song goes... "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" right?!

Anyhoos..... January 2013 I decided I needed a new adventure in my life, so when I was in one of my deep thought sessions with myself, I felt I needed to go back to what I enjoyed doing most.  In 1995, I went to beauty school to become a Nail Technician.  I worked in a local salon for quite a while and then life got busy and complicated and I needed something a bit more stable in my life and pursued other income avenues.  It wasn't surprising to many that when I decided to embark on this new journey it would involve nail art.  I've always enjoyed it and being a crafty person at heart, it is another creative outlet for me.  Thus the Krafty Gurl Nail Dazzle glitter polish line was born.  I'm loving interacting with bloggers, self proclaimed nail polish addicts and women all over the world who have a love of nail lacquer.

The intention of this blog is to become the center point, joining all my other social media resources together.  I'll be posting here first, before I post anywhere else.  So stay tuned for some great contests, giveaways, debut products, reviews and new projects.

Thank you for your support and encouragement!
